A grand wrestling tournament, Mahadangal, took place in Nadwa village under Barh, featuring a historic contest on Friday. The event, held at the ancestral residence of Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh, attracted a large audience and transformed into a celebration of traditional wrestling with an international flavor.
The highlight of the tournament was a gripping match between Indian wrestler Jonty Gurjar and Iran’s Halal. The intense battle showcased the strength and skills of both wrestlers, with Jonty Gurjar’s agility and tactical prowess ultimately securing a victory by pinning his Iranian opponent to the ground.
The victory was not just a personal achievement but a moment of national pride, with spectators cheering loudly as the Indian wrestler brought glory to the Tricolour. Anant Kumar Singh and Karmveer Singh honored the winner by presenting him with the Winner’s Cup at the end of the event.
Addressing the audience, Anant Singh stressed the significance of promoting rural sports and nurturing talent at the grassroots level. The tournament also highlighted the vibrant rural sporting culture of Bihar, inspiring youth and underscoring the importance of traditional games.
