In the 86kg men’s contest, Mukul Dahiya of Tiigers started strongly by defeating Georgia’s Tariel Gaphrindashvili with a dominant performance, securing the early lead for his team. Following this, Punjab Royals leveled the score at 1-1 as Ana Godinez, a Commonwealth silver medallist, showcased her prowess in the 62kg women’s bout against Sarika Malik, ultimately winning by fall.
Rohit Rahal of Tiigers then turned the tide in the 65kg men’s contest with an impressive performance, securing a victory over Paris Olympic medallist Islam Guseinov. Captain Aman Sehrawat extended Tiigers’ lead in the 57kg men’s bout with a high-scoring display against Chirag Chhikara. Despite Punjab Royals’ efforts, Priya Malik’s composed performance in the 76kg women’s category earned them a crucial win.
