Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has raised concerns about the impact of I-PAC on the party’s recent electoral defeats. She expressed disappointment over the increasing reliance on external entities, blaming “outsiders” for internal disruptions within the organization.
Ghosh Dastidar, a veteran parliamentarian with a long-standing association of over 40 years with TMC, highlighted the challenges faced by the party during its opposition days and its subsequent rise to power. She emphasized her unwavering support for the party during tough times, criticizing those who joined solely after the party gained power.
The MP criticized the influx of latecomers into TMC, suggesting that their motives were driven more by personal gain than by genuine commitment to the party’s ideology. She particularly singled out I-PAC, the political consultancy tasked with shaping TMC’s electoral strategies, for its flawed approach and alleged disconnect from grassroots realities.
Ghosh Dastidar underscored the importance of empowering local leadership within the party and cautioned against overreliance on external agencies for campaign strategies. She pointed out that the party’s defeat in the recent Assembly elections was influenced by various factors, including public discontent over issues like corruption and electoral roll discrepancies.
