Hollywood actor Tom Holland, preparing for his film ‘The Odyssey’, shared that he once messaged Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland. Despite this, Haaland chose to ignore Holland’s message. During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Holland disclosed the incident, calling it a “humbling” experience.
He recounted how Haaland, unaware of Holland’s identity, did not respond to the actor’s invitation to “hang out.” The actor, aged 30, confirmed the incident when questioned by Fallon, emphasizing the importance of such experiences for actors. Holland mentioned encountering Haaland at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in June, which prompted him to reach out to the footballer.
Holland humorously reflected on the rejection, expressing surprise at discussing it on live television. Despite the snub, he shared his initial motivation for contacting Haaland, citing the inspiration he felt while watching a Formula 1 race. When asked if he would still have dinner with Haaland, Holland jokingly remarked that the footballer might not be interested, especially after a recent England-Norway World Cup match.
