Hailing the success of the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026, Tribal Affairs Joint Secretary Anant Prakash Pandey emphasized its role in connecting tribal products with mainstream markets while preserving cultural heritage. The 19-day event at Sunder Nursery in Delhi celebrated tribal culture, craftsmanship, and enterprise, showcasing the government’s dedication to tribal empowerment and ‘Vocal for Local’ initiatives. With sales exceeding Rs 4.5 crore and a footfall of over 1.50 lakh, the festival contributed to empowering dreams and enhancing livelihoods for tribal communities.
The closing ceremony honored top tribal artisans and sellers in categories like Pottery, Jewellery, Textiles, and more. TRIFED Managing Director M. Rajamurugan and the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs presented awards to these talented individuals, underscoring the festival’s commitment to supporting tribal entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The event provided a platform for tribal artisans, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs nationwide, enabling direct market access and fostering economic growth.
Featuring over 200 stalls, 300 artisans, and 75 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, the festival showcased a diverse array of tribal handicrafts, handlooms, and natural products. Attendees enjoyed live craft demonstrations, tribal cuisines, and a vibrant display of tribal art and textiles. Notable attractions included the RISA Pavilion for contemporary tribal design, the BTF Bazaar for market linkages, and a tribal food court offering authentic cuisines. The festival also marked the launch of the RISA brand, a significant move towards promoting tribal craftsmanship globally.
