On the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, tributes were offered in Jharkhand, including in Ranchi, the state capital. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren honored Dr. Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at Ambedkar Chowk in Doranda. Governor Gangwar highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s role as the architect of the Constitution and a significant social reformer.
Recalling Dr. Ambedkar’s achievements, Governor Gangwar praised his resilience in overcoming challenges and fighting against discrimination. He emphasized the importance of education as a catalyst for social change, urging everyone to contribute to creating an inclusive society. Chief Minister Hemant Soren acknowledged Dr. Ambedkar’s pivotal role in shaping India’s democracy and expressed pride in his contributions to the nation.
In addition to the Chief Minister, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and MLA Kalpana Soren also paid their respects to Dr. Ambedkar. Various dignitaries, including the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police of Ranchi, attended the event to honor his legacy. Across Jharkhand, seminars and programs were held in different districts to commemorate Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, with attendees pledging to follow his principles.
