The Trinamool Congress criticized the Election Commission for allegedly targeting its leaders while overlooking similar incidents involving BJP members. The party highlighted a video showing BJP leaders with cash but questioned why the Commission was not taking similar action against them. The authenticity of the video remains unverified.

In a social media post, the TMC questioned why BJP ministers’ convoys were not subjected to checks like those imposed on Trinamool leaders. The party raised concerns about the lack of scrutiny on BJP leaders and their financial activities in Bengal. It accused the Election Commission of bias in its actions.

Recently, the Trinamool Congress accused the Election Commission of instructing surveillance teams to check vehicles of TMC leaders and their relatives, except for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The directive reportedly included Abhishek Banerjee and his wife, with the party sharing a screenshot of the alleged instructions. The Commission expressed concerns about potential money movements under the guise of certain activities.

The Trinamool Congress filed a complaint with the Election Commission, urging protection for its leaders’ family members during these checks. The party sought assurance that such actions would not lead to harassment, emphasizing the need for fair treatment by the Commission.
