Hours after Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Mamata Banerjee government, the Trinamool Congress retaliated by presenting a counter-charge sheet against the BJP government. The 15-page document titled “Mota Bhai, We Demand Answers” was unveiled by senior Trinamool Congress leader Bratya Basu, along with Members of Parliament Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad. They refuted all allegations made by Amit Shah, emphasizing women’s safety and criticizing his silence on similar issues in other states.
At a press conference at Trinamool Bhavan, the leaders highlighted concerns about women’s safety and questioned Amit Shah’s stance on various incidents in different states. Basu challenged Shah’s claims about infiltrators, pointing out security threats in Delhi and other regions. He also criticized the lack of transparency in disclosing names of individuals involved in such incidents, contrasting it with the accusations of demographic changes in Bengal.
Branding Amit Shah as “India’s most useless and failed Home Minister,” the Trinamool Congress leaders vehemently rejected the allegations presented in the charge sheet. They accused the BJP of conspiring against their party and vowed to address each point raised by Shah in their response.
