Trinamool Congress MP Saayoni Ghosh criticized the deployment of CRPF personnel during the West Bengal Assembly polls, likening it to a “state of war.” She expressed concerns over the presence of central forces and remarked that only the Navy and Air Force were yet to be stationed in Bengal. Ghosh emphasized her party’s commitment to fair elections, stating that violence was unnecessary as the people of Bengal support Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Amid the ongoing polling, Ghosh highlighted the heavy presence of tanks and described the situation in Bengal as resembling a war zone due to the CRPF deployment. She attributed this move to the BJP’s desperation and their realization that victory might be slipping away. Ghosh also echoed Mamata Banerjee’s claims of external poll observers being sent to the state by the BJP, accusing them of attempting to gain control of Bengal through any means necessary.
Accusing the BJP of resorting to various tactics to influence the election, Ghosh criticized the party for employing outside observers and engaging in voter intimidation. She raised concerns about the BJP’s efforts to suppress voter turnout in favor of Mamata Banerjee and manipulate polling percentages. Despite these challenges, Ghosh expressed confidence in her party’s success, asserting that Mamata Banerjee stands resolute with the people of Bengal and that the election results will reflect the true mandate of the voters.
