Before Mamata Banerjee took office in West Bengal in 2011, young individuals at the Trinamool Congress Bhavan in Kolkata monitored media in a small room. They analyzed news on screens and newspapers, with their reports reviewed by a party leader before reaching the Chairperson.
In 2016, ahead of the Assembly elections, political strategist Prashant Kishor met Mamata Banerjee at the party headquarters in Kolkata. The meeting ended amicably, but due to prior commitments, Kishor couldn’t engage further, and financial constraints prevented his full involvement.
Trinamool’s significant victory in West Bengal’s Parliamentary seats, winning 34 out of 42, preceded the meeting. Despite the “Modi magic,” the BJP only secured two seats, indicating Trinamool’s strong position.
