Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the government’s focus on infrastructure development to boost the state’s progress and create a “New Tripura.” He stressed the importance of infrastructure in overall development, transcending political boundaries. Saha emphasized the necessity of development for the state’s advancement, stating that it should not be entangled in politics.
The Chief Minister mentioned his efforts towards inclusive governance by inviting public representatives to government events regardless of their political affiliations. He also shared his recent discussions with Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, where he was appointed to lead the High-Level Task Force for the Northeastern region’s development, known as ‘Ashtalakshi.’
Saha pointed out the significant increase in the state budget for the 2025-26 financial year, reaching Rs 32,000 crore, with a substantial portion allocated to infrastructure projects. He highlighted the success of the recent Investors’ Summit in New Delhi, where Tripura received investment proposals worth Rs 15,000 crore due to the state’s peaceful environment.
The Chief Minister inaugurated 11 projects and laid foundation stones for two more, totaling around Rs 113 crore in estimated costs on that day. He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing substance abuse by establishing drug de-addiction centers in all districts as promised. Saha also noted improvements in the health sector, including an increase in MBBS seats to 400 and enhancements at Agartala Government Dental College.
