Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the BJP government’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and modern healthcare services. He inaugurated three vital healthcare facilities at the Agartala Government Medical College and Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital. These facilities include a Respiratory and Geriatric Intensive Care Unit, a Trauma Centre Operation Theatre, and a Labour Room-cum-Obstetrics and Gynaecology Operation Theatre Complex.
Saha, who oversees the Health and Family Welfare portfolios, highlighted the significance of these new services in delivering advanced and timely medical care. The Respiratory and Geriatric ICU, equipped with modern monitoring systems, aims to enhance treatment for patients with severe respiratory complications and age-related illnesses. The government plans to expand ICU capacity to over 320 beds in the future.
The operationalization of the Trauma Centre Operation Theatre enables round-the-clock emergency surgeries, providing access to various specialists for prompt treatment in cases of road accidents and emergencies. The newly constructed Labour Room-cum-OBS and Gynaecology Operation Theatre Complex focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns. These initiatives reflect the government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and services in Tripura.
