The Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, expressed faith in Champat Rai’s integrity despite differences in functioning. He emphasized the need for reforms within the Trust to enhance transparency. Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj stated that any confusion surrounding recent events would be clarified, ensuring the Trust’s continued operations with openness.

Reacting to questions about the resignations within the Trust, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj affirmed his trust in Champat Rai’s character. He mentioned that while they disagreed on working styles, he believed accusations of financial misconduct against Champat Rai were unfounded. The Trust Treasurer deferred comments on the Ram Mandir donation theft issue until the Special Investigation Team (SIT) completed its investigation.

Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj addressed the recent controversies, acknowledging the confusion among devotees but assuring that clarity was being restored gradually. He highlighted that despite the donation theft case, reports indicated an increase in offerings at the temple. The Treasurer stressed the importance of periodic reviews for organizational efficiency, confirming the removal of the temple manager from his duties.

Regarding the Trust’s financial status, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj disclosed that donations totaling around Rs 3,200 crore had been received for the temple’s construction. He mentioned a current balance of Rs 1,800 crore after project expenses. Emphasizing the need for procedural reforms over mere resignations, he expressed confidence in improving the Trust’s operations to maintain devotees’ trust in the temple.
