Two Border Security Force (BSF) officers sustained injuries during a raid on a drug hotspot in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Gujjar Basti village of the Supwal area, where locals attacked the officers. The injured officers, identified as Inspector Imtiyaz and Sub-Inspector Devender Kumar, were not in uniform at the time of the attack.
Reports indicate that the officers have been taken to AIIMS Jammu for treatment and are currently in stable condition. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and a case has been registered. The region of Samba in Jammu and Kashmir has a 240 km long international border, which is guarded by the BSF to prevent activities like infiltration, exfiltration, drug smuggling, and drone operations by terror groups.
Jammu and Kashmir also has a 740-km-long Line of Control (LoC) in various districts, which is guarded by the Army. The BSF has implemented advanced anti-drone technology along the international border to counter drone activities by terrorist organizations. Additionally, anti-terrorist operations and efforts against drug-related crimes are carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces in the region.
