Two men were apprehended by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Gujarat CID in Gandhinagar with nearly 12 kilograms of ganja. The suspects, Viraj Solanki and Aditya alias Adi Baraiya, were caught during a targeted operation at Chiloda Circle. The seized ganja, valued at Rs 5.97 lakh, was accompanied by two mobile phones worth Rs 10,000, bringing the total value of confiscated items to Rs 6.07 lakh.
The operation, led by Inspector N.R. Patel, involved officers K.M. Vadnagara, P.S. Zala, and P.M. Chavda, along with other team members and a technical expert. Charges have been filed under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The case has been transferred to the Chiloda police station for further investigation.
This incident is part of a recent series of crackdowns on narcotics in Gujarat. In a separate case in Bhavnagar district in February, authorities discovered an illegal narcotics plantation, seizing drugs worth over Rs 10.9 crore. Another significant operation in GIFT City in March resulted in the recovery of hybrid ganja valued at more than Rs 26 lakh. Additionally, the ANTF seized 5.177 kg of ganja in Sabarkantha district and arrested one individual, with ongoing investigations to uncover the broader supply network.
