Two men were discovered dead near a railway track in Ahmedabad’s Naranpura area after being hit by a train during the night. The bodies were found close to the Adarshnagar Police Chowki around 11 a.m. One of the deceased individuals has been identified as Satyajit Shrimali, a 50-year-old resident of Naranpura, while the second victim, approximately 32 years old, remains unidentified.
Local residents alerted the authorities upon spotting the bodies near the railway crossing. Following this, personnel from the local police station and the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Inspector Vimal Dangar from Vadaj Police Station mentioned that initial findings indicate the incident occurred at night.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident took place at night, with the bodies being discovered in the morning. Inspector Dangar highlighted that the circumstances surrounding how the two men were struck by the train are currently unclear. He stated that various possibilities, including suicide and accident, are being considered, and a thorough investigation is underway to explore all angles.
Police have filed separate cases of accidental death in relation to the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Efforts are being made to identify the second victim and locate his family members. Further information is expected to surface following the receipt of post-mortem reports and the conclusion of the initial phase of the inquiry.
