Two minors tragically lost their lives in Bihar’s Kaimur district when a clay-loaded tractor lost control, overturned, and caught fire. The incident, which occurred between Kharauda and Naughara under Chainpur Police Station’s jurisdiction, is currently under investigation by local authorities. Witnesses reported that the speeding tractor veered out of control, leading to the fatal accident.
The vehicle toppled into a narrow roadside ditch, getting stuck with all four wheels facing upwards. It is suspected that a short circuit during the mishap ignited the tractor, resulting in the fire that claimed the lives of the two trapped minors. Despite rescue efforts, the victims succumbed to severe burn injuries at the scene before they could be saved.
Local officials have identified the deceased minors, although their names have not been officially released. The tragic incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with rescue operations proving challenging due to the narrow location of the overturned tractor. Emergency response personnel from the ‘112’ service rushed to the spot upon receiving the alert and initiated efforts to retrieve the vehicle with the help of a JCB machine.
Vijay Prasad, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chainpur Police Station, confirmed the accident and the subsequent rescue operation. An investigative team is looking into the circumstances that led to the tractor losing control and catching fire. Further actions will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
