Two teenagers lost their lives, and another was injured in Hyderabad when a tipper lorry collided with the scooty they were riding. The tragic incident occurred in the Kukatpally area while the youths were en route to play cricket. The deceased teenagers were identified as 17-year-olds Mahesh and Lakshmi Teja, with a third youth sustaining injuries and receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.

A police investigation has been initiated into the accident, with authorities revealing that the tipper lorry driver fled the scene following the collision. The police seized the lorry and are actively searching for the driver who absconded after the incident. The bodies of the deceased teenagers were transferred to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examinations.

In a separate incident, a significant fire erupted late Saturday night near Sri Parvathi Jadala Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple in Narketpally, Nalgonda district. The fire originated in a toy shop and quickly spread to neighboring shops, resulting in damage to 17 toy shops and 15 pushcarts. Emergency services, including three fire engines, were promptly dispatched to combat the flames.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire triggered the explosion of two gas cylinders, causing panic in the vicinity. Although no casualties were reported, local shop owners suffered substantial financial losses estimated at around Rs 2.5 crore. The flames even reached the Gram Panchayat office, leading to damage to official files. Fortunately, due to the late hour, the shops were unoccupied, averting potential human tragedy.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the fire, with a case registered for further investigation into the incident.
