Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed concern over the insufficient production of anti-ballistic missiles in the United States. Zelensky emphasized the potential global crisis due to this shortage, especially with Russia boosting its ballistic missile production. He urged the US to grant licenses for Ukraine to manufacture Patriot missiles to address the pressing need for more anti-ballistic missiles.
Zelensky highlighted the importance of expanding Patriot missile production not only for Ukraine but also for other nations supported by the US. He stressed the necessity of US assistance until a European anti-ballistic system is developed. Additionally, Zelensky mentioned Ukraine’s efforts to intercept Russian drones heading towards neighboring countries like Romania, Moldova, Poland, and the Baltic states.
The Ukrainian President emphasized the significance of diplomatic dialogue to prevent escalation, citing the importance of internal and external pressures on Russia. Zelensky also questioned the representation of Europe in negotiations, suggesting the involvement of the UK, France, Germany, and Nordic partners, with Turkey as a potential mediator based on past successes in prisoner exchanges.
