Unidentified assailants fired at a car in Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area, injuring one person, as per police officials. The incident occurred with five individuals in the car, and the attackers fled post the shooting. The injured individual was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and reports indicate that he is in stable condition.
DCP North Delhi Raja Banthia informed reporters that they were alerted around 10:10 pm about the car being fired upon near Kashmere Gate. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the car had been targeted with four to five rounds. One person sustained injuries and was hospitalized, prompting an immediate investigative response from the police team.
“We are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the case. Through CCTV footage, witness accounts, and technical evidence, we aim to swiftly apprehend the culprits,” stated the DCP. He emphasized the priority of upholding law and order in Delhi.
The injured man, reportedly associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s legal team, is yet to be officially verified by the police. The other four occupants in the car during the incident are unharmed. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with possibilities pointing to an old rivalry or gang conflict.
Law enforcement authorities secured CCTV footage from nearby cameras and initiated a forensic investigation at the scene. Recovered empty cartridges are being analyzed to determine the weapon used in the shooting. The police have sealed off the area and launched a search operation for the suspects.
