Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan led the 13th Council of NITSER meeting to discuss improving efficiency and innovation in education. He proposed establishing an industry-led curriculum committee to align academic programs with national priorities. Pradhan emphasized the need for industry-centric PhD programs and integrating premier technological institutions into the accreditation framework.
The meeting also included a review of academic and research standards at NITs and IIESTs, focusing on governance efficiency and innovation. Pradhan highlighted the importance of developing curriculum based on emerging job roles and 21st-century requirements. He envisioned these institutions as hubs of applied education, research, and workforce development for national progress.
Additionally, Pradhan oversaw the 3rd Meeting of the Standing Committee of IISERs, evaluating their academic and research outputs. He emphasized student-focused approaches and outcome-centric research to enhance societal advancement. The Standing Committee discussed strategies for achieving academic excellence and enriching student experiences in scientific education and research.
Pradhan praised IISERs as vital contributors to higher education in India, expressing confidence in their ability to nurture a new generation of scientists and innovators. He envisioned these institutions as key players in addressing global scientific challenges and elevating India’s knowledge capabilities on the global stage.
