IIT Roorkee also dismissed concerns raised on social media regarding data breach, reassuring students and parents about the safety of their information.
The Ministry and IIT Roorkee condemned attempts to spread misinformation and undermine public trust in the examination system, labeling such actions as deeply concerning. The JEE Advanced exam serves as the gateway for students aspiring to secure admissions in 23 prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). IIT Roorkee further debunked claims circulating on social media, emphasizing the inaccuracy of the information being shared and the minimal impact of recent technical interventions on the exam process.
Addressing a temporary misconfiguration in a cloud storage component, IIT Roorkee stated that no sensitive data was compromised or extracted in bulk. An ethical hacker identified the issue, leading to immediate rectification and restriction of data access. The Institute assured that the incident had no bearing on exam outcomes, including marks and ranks, maintaining its commitment to upholding the integrity and transparency of the JEE (Advanced) and counseling processes.
