Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Bikaner, Rajasthan for a two-day trip. He will assess border security arrangements and meet with senior officials to discuss issues in Rajasthan’s border districts. The visit, as described by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, will include a high-level meeting to review security measures, anti-infiltration efforts, and development projects in the border region.
During the visit, Shah will visit the Sanchu border outpost to engage with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and gather feedback on security challenges and future strategies. Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing security measures, improving coordination among agencies, and bolstering infrastructure in border areas. The trip aims to address security concerns, anti-infiltration strategies, and coordination mechanisms along the border.
The visit is deemed strategically important, with a particular emphasis on assessing border management and development-related issues. Talks with the BSF and other security agencies will play a crucial role in evaluating security arrangements, anti-infiltration measures, and coordination efforts. The agenda may also cover development plans for border districts and initiatives to combat hybrid warfare and smuggling activities across the border.
Security preparations have been intensified ahead of the visit, with extensive measures in place by the administration and police. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas recently chaired a meeting to review security, coordination, and administrative readiness for Shah’s visit and the subsequent Border Security Review Meeting. The meeting focused on strengthening security arrangements, enhancing coordination among agencies, and ensuring robust surveillance and security mechanisms in Rajasthan’s border regions.
