Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, accused previous governments of diminishing the confidence and security of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) employees. He criticized the exploitation of Singareni for political gains instead of strengthening it as a vital public sector enterprise. During the ‘Singareni Bharosa Yatra’, he engaged with workers at KTK-8 Mine, emphasizing their pivotal role in India’s progress.
Kishan Reddy expressed concerns about the growing apprehension among Singareni workers due to past government policies. He urged the Telangana government to transparently disclose the usage of District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds and highlighted the substantial pending dues of around ₹9,000 crore owed to Singareni by Telangana GENCO, burdening the company financially.
The Union Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to allocate the Tadicherla-2 Coal Block to Singareni, underscoring the government’s commitment to safeguarding the company and its employees. He pledged to enhance Singareni’s prosperity, governance transparency, and workers’ welfare if the Bharatiya Janata Party assumes power in Telangana.
Kishan Reddy reiterated his dedication to revitalizing Singareni’s profitability, ensuring support for the workforce, and securing a prosperous future for the company. The event was attended by BJP Telangana State President, N. Ramchander Rao, along with other party leaders.
