Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia has pledged to address the alleged financial irregularities at the Satara post office, as highlighted by NCP Working President Supriya Sule. Scindia confirmed that immediate steps have been taken, including initiating a departmental inquiry and involving the CBI for further investigation.
Responding to Sule’s concerns, Scindia emphasized the importance of upholding the credibility of India Post Office services. He stated that all claims are being meticulously processed, with forensic verification where necessary, to ensure the resolution of valid claims. Sule had earlier approached the Minister seeking swift action for claimants facing difficulties in accessing their funds.
Sule had raised the issue of financial discrepancies at the Satara main post office in April 2024, leading to a subsequent CBI investigation. Despite efforts to process claims for affected account holders, some individuals are still awaiting their settlements due to signature mismatches. Sule urged for immediate disbursal of these pending claims and called for stringent action against those responsible to safeguard the postal service’s integrity.
