Former Indian spinner Piyush Chawla commended Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan for his exceptional bowling display, securing figures of 3-17 for the Gujarat Titans against the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026. Rashid’s crucial dismissals of Sameer Rizvi, Nitish Rana, and Axar Patel posed significant challenges for DC during their pursuit of 211 runs. Despite a valiant effort from David Miller, who scored an unbeaten 41 despite an injury, Prasidh Krishna’s tight final over ensured a thrilling one-run victory for GT.

Chawla highlighted Rashid Khan’s precision and strategic deception, emphasizing his pivotal role in defending the total on a favorable batting surface. Khan’s dismissal of Sameer Rizvi, a proficient spinner against whom he cleverly executed a wrong’un, stood out as a remarkable moment in the match. Chawla, a JioStar expert on Star Sports, praised Khan’s accuracy and game-changing performance.

Reflecting on the match, Chawla also acknowledged KL Rahul’s impactful 92 runs that kept DC in contention before the game slipped away. Rahul’s calculated innings, starting steadily and then accelerating, played a crucial role in maintaining the required run rate within reach for Delhi Capitals. Despite Rahul’s impressive contribution, Chawla noted the disappointment of not being able to finish the game for his team, as victory eluded DC in the end.
