Mizoram’s geographical location, sharing borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh, makes it vulnerable to cross-border smuggling activities. The state faces challenges due to its unfenced international border with Myanmar and porous border with Bangladesh, leading to frequent smuggling of contraband items through various districts, including drugs, exotic animals, and foreign-made cigarettes, posing significant law enforcement challenges.
