Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a new cement plant in Guna district. The Adani Group is investing approximately Rs 1,100 crore in this project, which is part of a larger investment plan totaling about Rs 3,500 crore in the Guna region.
This cement plant, the first major one in the Gwalior-Chambal region, is expected to bring significant industrial development to the area. Minister Scindia highlighted that the project will offer job opportunities to local youth, reducing the need for them to seek employment in other states.
The investment in the cement plant signifies ongoing efforts to attract industries to the region. Minister Scindia emphasized the importance of this investment, attributing its success to the collaborative efforts of the Central and state governments. The project is anticipated to create both direct and indirect employment opportunities in Guna and neighboring districts, benefiting various sectors like transport, packaging, and services.
Several developmental initiatives are planned for the inauguration program on May 10, including a visit by Minister Scindia to a departmental exhibition and the distribution of government scheme benefits to beneficiaries. Once operational, the cement plant will not only cater to infrastructure projects in Madhya Pradesh and nearby states but also contribute to local revenue and skill development, supporting industrial growth in the Gwalior-Chambal region.
