Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the ‘Samriddh Gram Integrated Phygital Services Project’ by the Department of Telecommunications has been honored as the ‘Global Winner’ of the ‘WSIS Prizes 2026’ in the ‘Enabling Environment’ category by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
This project, driven by Bharat Net, aims to provide healthcare, education, digital banking, and livelihood services through village-level Samriddhi Kendras, reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally inclusive India.
Scindia highlighted that this achievement underscores India’s leadership in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and showcases scalable models that cater to global needs. He congratulated all stakeholders involved in this success.
The initiative focuses on leveraging high-speed broadband connectivity to offer citizen-centric services in rural areas, emphasizing the integration of technology with essential public services to bring new opportunities directly to villages.
