Union Minister Lalan Singh, a senior Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader, shared insights on Bihar politics, internal party dynamics, and the government’s strategy to enhance India’s seafood exports. Dismissing rumors of former Union Minister RCP Singh’s return to JD-U, Singh emphasized the party’s reliance on dedicated workers and its growth under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s guidance.
Singh revealed plans for a high-level roundtable conference on January 21, 2026, involving Ambassadors and High Commissioners from over 80 nations to boost India’s seafood exports. He highlighted India’s position as the world’s second-largest aquaculture producer and aims to establish new international market connections through this initiative.
After a meeting with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Singh announced their departure for Delhi for a Cabinet meeting, acknowledging Kumar’s longstanding support over 38 years. He deferred the decision on Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar’s political entry to the Bihar Chief Minister and praised Nitin Nabin’s appointment as BJP President for his leadership qualities.
Reflecting on the Bihar Assembly election results, Singh noted the strong mandate given by the people of Bihar to the NDA based on development. He emphasized Bihar’s pivotal role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a ‘Developed India 2047,’ asserting the state’s readiness to lead in national progress.
