Union Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed plans to revamp upcoming and existing EPFO offices into advanced, technology-driven service centers akin to Passport Seva Kendras. This initiative aims to offer a single-window solution for EPF-related matters at any regional office nationwide. The minister inaugurated the new Bhavishya Nidhi Bhawan in Vatva, Gujarat, emphasizing ongoing government efforts to enhance EPFO services.
To facilitate easier access for workers, especially new users and those unfamiliar with digital platforms, the government will introduce EPF Suvidha Providers. These authorized facilitators will assist members in navigating benefits and resolving issues, bridging the gap between citizens and the EPFO. Additionally, the EPFO will conduct KYC verification for inactive accounts and launch a digital platform for simplified claim filing and swift settlements.
Minister Mandaviya highlighted the significance of the new infrastructure as a symbol of trust and integrity, referring to it as an “Aastha Ka Kendra.” He underscored the EPFO’s role in safeguarding the savings of millions of workers and its contribution to nation-building. The minister also commended the expansion of social security coverage in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the substantial increase from 19% to 64% coverage.
Emphasizing the evolution of EPFO processes, Minister Mandaviya outlined various reforms such as automatic processing of settlements up to Rs 5 lakh, seamless account transfers, and the ability to address EPF-related issues at any regional office. These advancements aim to streamline operations and provide greater convenience to EPFO members across the country.
