Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, engaged in a fruitful discussion with the Commonwealth Secretary-General Elect, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, during the Commonwealth Sports Ministers’ Meeting in Glasgow. Mandaviya emphasized India’s sports reforms like Khelo Bharat Niti and ASMITA Leagues, focusing on enhancing grassroots participation and nurturing talent.

The meeting also involved talks on utilizing the ‘Commonwealth Advantage’ to enhance global sports partnerships, promote gender equality, and explore trade and investment prospects as India prepares for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Mandaviya highlighted India’s growing sports prominence and affirmed readiness for hosting the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.

In Glasgow, Mandaviya led the Indian delegation to observe the organization of the 2026 Commonwealth Games and engage with other countries’ delegations to bolster India’s bid for the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad.
