Union Minister Piyush Goyal, overseeing BJP’s Tamil Nadu election affairs, will be in Chennai on March 23 to finalize seat-sharing within the NDA. Despite the upcoming Assembly elections, negotiations among alliance partners are ongoing. The AIADMK-led NDA includes major allies like BJP, PMK, AMMK, and IJK.

Goyal’s visit aims to bring clarity and consensus among alliance partners. Recent high-level meetings in Delhi have set the stage for renewed negotiations. AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami and other NDA leaders have met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss electoral strategy and alliance coordination.

The BJP is eyeing 30-35 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, focusing on key urban seats like Velachery, T. Nagar, and Mylapore in Chennai. Discussions are ongoing for the allocation of remaining seats among alliance partners. Goyal’s meetings in Chennai are crucial in finalizing the NDA’s seat-sharing formula and electoral strategy for the upcoming polls.
