Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to inaugurate the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV (PMGSY-IV) and mark the silver jubilee of the scheme in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district. The event, scheduled for Sunday, will also see the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Ministers of State Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and Kamlesh Paswan, and state Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel.
During the ceremony, Minister Chouhan will distribute sanction letters and financial approvals for 973 roads spanning 2,117 km under PMGSY-IV, benefiting 987 habitations in the state. Additionally, projects covering over 384 km under the PM-JANMAN scheme will be unveiled for 168 backward habitations.
An indicative PMGSY allocation of Rs 18,907 crore for 2026-27, with Rs 830 crore earmarked for Madhya Pradesh, is also expected to be announced. The aim is to enhance rural connectivity, providing easier access to essential facilities like schools, hospitals, and markets.
Furthermore, Minister Chouhan, also the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, will introduce ‘Mama Coaching Classes’ in Vidisha later in the day. These classes aim to offer free coaching for competitive exams to students and youth, including study materials and career guidance for exams such as MPPSC, banking, SSC, DRDO, and Forest Service recruitment tests.
Chouhan emphasized that the coaching centers aim to ensure that talented youth do not miss out on opportunities due to resource constraints. Similar coaching centers are planned for Raisen and Bherunda in the upcoming months.
