Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha declared a state-wide ‘Dhikkar March’ in Bihar on April 22 to protest opposition parties’ stance on women’s representation and delimitation issues. Addressing the media in Patna, Kushwaha accused the opposition of blocking crucial legislations like Women’s Reservation and Delimitation-related measures. He criticized the Indian National Congress and Mahagathbandhan constituents for neglecting women’s political representation, emphasizing the need for delimitation to enhance opportunities for women in legislative bodies. The ‘Dhikkar March’ is set to take place at all district headquarters in Bihar as a significant political initiative by RLM.
Kushwaha emphasized his party’s commitment to ensuring fair representation for women, SC, ST, and OBC communities in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. He highlighted the failure of bills like the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, attributing the blame to opposition leaders for allegedly having an anti-women mindset. The march aims to reveal the true intentions of the opposition and advocate for gender equality and social justice in Bihar’s political landscape.
