The US is cautioned to tread carefully to prevent the formation of a coalition against it due to international frustration with its “rogue behavior.” A foreign policy researcher, Prateek Kapil, highlighted that the US desires primacy at all costs, evident in its recent attack on Iran aimed at upholding American dominance globally. Kapil emphasized that the US employs violence strategically, often with little consequence, to achieve its objectives, leaving a trail of ruin in countries like Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

The aftermath of the US military attack on Iran showcased Iran’s resilience and ability to reshape global economic dynamics by swiftly reclaiming the Strait of Hormuz within 32 days. By challenging the notion of unipolarity and freedom of navigation, Iran dealt a significant blow to American primacy, weakening US power when unable to maintain economic dominance and global influence. This event underscores a shift away from US dominance, with countries considering a multipolar order to counter American hegemony and protect their interests.

The global sentiment is shifting towards rejecting American unipolarity, with Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz leading to widespread shortages worldwide and calls for a multipolar world order. Countries are increasingly skeptical of the US as a guardian of values and security interests, viewing it as a predatory hegemon. This skepticism has eroded American credibility and legitimacy as a global superpower, signaling a broader global rejection of US dominance.
