Riding on strong performances by captain Monank Patel and Sanjay Krishnamurthi, the USA scored a massive 199/4 in 20 overs against Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2026 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The USA had a solid start with a 68-run opening partnership between Monank Patel and Shayan Jahangir.
Despite losing Shayan early on, Monank Patel continued the aggressive batting and reached his half-century in 27 balls. He also became the first USA player to score 1000 runs in T20I cricket. Namibia fought back with quick wickets, but a crucial 87-run partnership between Milind Kumar and Sanjay Krishnamurthi shifted the momentum in favor of the USA.
Sanjay Krishnamurthi played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 68 off just 33 balls, including four boundaries and six sixes. With contributions from Milind Kumar, the USA set a challenging target for Namibia. Willem Myburgh and Captain Gerhard Erasmus were the standout bowlers for Namibia, each taking two wickets.
