Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath observed Mahashivratri at the Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. As the head priest of the temple, he conducted the Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva following traditional customs and Vedic chants. CM Yogi expressed his prayers for humanity’s well-being during the ceremony.
Earlier, he greeted people nationwide on the festive occasion of Mahashivratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Chief Minister extended his wishes for peace, strength, and prosperity to all devotees and residents. Mahashivratri, a significant Hindu festival honoring Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s divine union, is being fervently celebrated across India.
Devotees flocked to major Shiva temples, engaging in special rituals, prayers, and sacred river dips. Tight security and crowd management measures were in place at pilgrimage sites to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of the occasion.
