Uttar Pradesh Congress leaders in Lucknow criticized the Centre for its handling of the alleged examination paper leak problem. They questioned why Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has not been asked to resign and expressed concern over police action against protesting students. Congress leader Akhilesh Pratap Singh highlighted the government’s inadequate response to recurring paper leaks and called for addressing systemic flaws in the examination process.

The leaders emphasized that examination paper leaks have been a longstanding issue, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi repeatedly raising concerns about flaws in the education and examination systems. They accused the government of failing to hold accountable those responsible for the leaks and demanded action against the minister. Singh also alleged repression against protesters and Opposition members, criticizing the government for hindering parliamentary proceedings when issues are raised.

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai accused the government of diverting attention from larger issues by suppressing student protests. He condemned the use of force against students and criticized the government for not addressing issues of donation theft and fund misappropriation. Rai demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, stressing the need for political accountability alongside legislative reforms.

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of stricter measures against paper leaks, the Congress leaders reiterated their call for Pradhan’s resignation. They emphasized that legislative changes alone were insufficient and underscored the importance of political accountability in conjunction with reforms to the examination system.
