Uttar Pradesh Hockey claimed victory at the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2026 held in Rajgir, Bihar by defeating Hockey Madhya Pradesh in the Division ‘A’ Final. The final match showcased a dominant performance by Uttar Pradesh Hockey, securing a 5–2 win over Hockey Madhya Pradesh. Skipper Ketan Kushwaha led the charge with an early field goal.
In a thrilling encounter, Hockey Madhya Pradesh fought back with Gazee Khan’s equalizer, but Uttar Pradesh regained control with goals from Nitish Yadav and Ali Shahrukh. Rajbhar Prahlad and Chauhan Raghvendra Singh further extended Uttar Pradesh’s lead. Despite a consolation goal from Ayush Singh Lodhi, Uttar Pradesh sealed the victory with a comprehensive 5–2 scoreline.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey’s successful campaign included impressive wins throughout the tournament, culminating in their title triumph. Notably, Ali Shahrukh emerged as the team’s top scorer, playing a pivotal role in their championship journey.
Hockey Punjab secured the Bronze medal by defeating Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey in the 3rd/4th place match of Division ‘A’. Rajveer Singh’s early goal secured a 1–0 victory for Hockey Punjab, ensuring a podium finish after a hard-fought battle against their opponents.
