In an election campaign in Kanyakumari district, TVK president Vijay presented an ambitious governance plan while criticizing Chief Minister M. K. Stalin. Vijay pledged a corruption-free distribution of welfare schemes, ensuring benefits reach citizens without the need for applications or bribes. He proposed issuing a “priority card” to every family in Tamil Nadu, similar to Aadhaar, to facilitate seamless delivery of welfare benefits from birth.
Vijay emphasized the use of artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency and transparency in the system. He differentiated his proposals from mere “stories,” asserting they were scientifically feasible plans supported by technology. Alleging widespread corruption within the current system, Vijay vowed to prioritize eradicating corruption and introduce the “Tamil Nadu Government Service Scheme” within six months of assuming power.
A central aspect of his vision is the introduction of the “Vetri Tamil Nadu Super App,” a unified digital platform for accessing all government services. Vijay assured swift action against officials responsible for service delays. He proposed a participatory governance model, including a government portal for idea submission, public finance monitoring, and direct petitioning of the Assembly. Petitions with significant support would receive official responses and be considered for legislative debate.
Vijay also addressed economic issues, criticizing the state’s mounting debt exceeding Rs 10.05 lakh crore. He pledged to boost revenue, streamline spending, and avoid imposing additional taxes. Concluding his speech, Vijay envisioned Tamil Nadu as India’s hub for artificial intelligence and digital technologies under a TVK government.
