Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has advised those embarking on the Char Dham Yatra to stay informed about the weather conditions and exercise utmost care during their journey.
Taking into account the inclement weather, officials emphasize the need for extra caution while planning travel itineraries on May 12 and 13. Traveling after the weather improves is recommended, along with adherence to guidelines from local authorities for a safe journey. The Uttarakhand government is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and organized Char Dham Yatra, with preparations in place for the safety and convenience of all participants.
Efforts have been made to enhance disaster warning systems, with a successful test alert conducted by the National Disaster Management Authority and C-DOT using Cell Broadcasting System nationwide, including in Uttarakhand. The state had advocated for the swift implementation of this technology, which now enables targeted warning messages to be sent to the public during emergencies.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed appreciation to key officials for the successful launch of cell broadcast technology, which allows for the rapid dissemination of alerts to mobile users in specific geographical areas during disasters.
