The Uttarakhand government has reassigned four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to new roles immediately to enhance public administration. Among these changes, Amit Singh Rawat, previously the Inspector General of Police (Personnel) at the police headquarters, is now the Inspector General of Police for the Kumbh Mela, responsible for security and law enforcement at the event. Ayush Agrawal, the former Tehri Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), has been appointed as the new SSP for the Kumbh Mela to strengthen security measures for the religious gathering.
Shweta Chaubey, who held the position of Commandant of IRB II, has been designated as the new SSP of Tehri, replacing Agrawal, indicating a significant shift in district-level policing. Additionally, Vishakha, the current Superintendent of Police overseeing Crime Against Women, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Training, has been reassigned as Commandant, IRB II. The officers have been instructed to assume their new roles promptly and report to the state government through the Director General of Police Deepam Seth.
This reshuffle aims to enhance administrative efficiency and security readiness, especially in anticipation of upcoming major events in Uttarakhand.
