India’s No. 2 women’s singles player, Vaidehee Chaudhari, has secured a Wild Card entry into the main draw of the 2026 Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series. Additionally, 15-year-old Parthsarthi Mundhe and 22-year-old Akanksha Nitture have been granted Wild Cards for the Qualifiers, set to take place at the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) in Mumbai.
The Qualifiers are scheduled for January 31st and February 1st, followed by the main draw from February 2nd to 8th, 2026. Vaidehee Chaudhari’s inclusion in the main draw comes after Sahaja Yamalapalli secured a direct entry into the tournament.
Having recently clinched the W35 Solapur title by defeating Michika Ozeki and reaching the final of WTT 15 in Ahmedabad, Chaudhari is in excellent form. The 25-year-old also played a vital role for the Indian Team at the Billie Jean King Cup Asia Oceania Group 1, contributing significantly in Singles matches.
Expressing her gratitude, Vaidehee Chaudhari remarked, “I’m very excited and thankful to Hon President Mr. Prashant Sutar and Hon Secretary Mr. Sundar Iyer of MSLTA for giving me this golden opportunity. This year’s L&T Mumbai Open will witness the participation of numerous top-ranked international players, and I am eager to face the challenge.”
In preparation for the tournament, Chaudhari shared her approach, stating, “I plan to enjoy every match and give my best to progress in the competition by maintaining focus, trusting my training, and putting forth my best effort in every game.” Parthsarthi Aru Mundhe, a 15-year-old Junior National Champion from Maharashtra’s Dharashiv district, aims to make an impression in her first L&T Mumbai Open campaign. Mundhe will compete against Poland’s Zuzanna Pawlikowska in the Qualifiers, while Akanksha Nitture is set to face Indian veteran Ankita Raina on the opening day of the Qualifying rounds at the MSLTA.
