Venezuela’s acting President Delcy Rodriguez expressed gratitude for the humanitarian aid provided by 28 countries to support victims of the country’s recent quakes. She inspected a collection center in Caracas where over 2,000 tonnes of aid are being readied for distribution to temporary camps housing victims of the June 24 earthquakes.
Rodriguez thanked the countries, peoples, and governments for their support, ensuring that each country’s aid will directly benefit the Venezuelan people. She emphasized that the international response has shown Venezuela that it is not alone in facing this tragedy.
The recent earthquakes in central Venezuela resulted in significant casualties and displaced thousands of people. Rodriguez declared seven days of national mourning to honor the victims and expressed solidarity with those affected by the devastating earthquakes.
Rescuers, including teams from abroad, continue their efforts to search for survivors amidst the aftermath of the earthquakes. Indian medical teams are also providing crucial humanitarian support under ‘Operation Amistad’, receiving appreciation for their care and assistance from survivors and their families.
