Veteran actress and theatre personality Lillete Dubey recently shared a nostalgic throwback photo from her younger theatre days. The monochrome image, unearthed from actor Amar Talwar’s archives, brought back memories from the 1980s. In the midst of celebrating her 35-year theatre festival, Lillete humorously commented on her old hairstyle, expressing her dislike for the 80s perm.
Amidst the nostalgia, Lillete also announced the upcoming segment of her ongoing theatre festival. Scheduled for the weekend at the NCPA Exp, the festival will feature two favorites: ‘Dance like a Man’ on February 14 and Mahesh Elkunchwar’s quartet drama ‘Autobiography’ on February 15. The actress invited her audience to join her backstage for these shows.
In her latest release “Songs of Paradise,” Lillete Dubey stars alongside Saba Azad, Soni Razdan, and Zain Khan Durrani. Directed by Danish Renzu, the film portrays the journey of a Kashmiri woman aspiring to be a singer, inspired by the music of Raj Begum. The movie sheds light on the struggles and triumphs of Kashmiri artists, set against the backdrop of Kashmir’s rich music, culture, and history.
Lillete Dubey, renowned for her roles in various films including “Zubeidaa,” “Monsoon Wedding,” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” continues to captivate audiences with her versatile performances.
