Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan addressed over 1.2 lakh fresh graduates at Delhi University’s 102nd Convocation. He emphasized their role in shaping “Viksit Bharat@2047” and highlighted the importance of integrity, competence, compassion, and innovation in realizing ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India aims to become self-reliant and developed by 2047, marking 100 years of Independence.
At this critical juncture, the Vice-President stressed the significance of youth in India’s journey towards a developed nation by 2047. He called for universities to drive research, entrepreneurship, and indigenous knowledge systems to support ‘Aatmanirbharta’. ‘Viksit Bharat’ envisions inclusive growth, technological leadership, social harmony, and transparent institutions. The goal is to ensure development reaches every citizen and offers equal opportunities to all.
Vice-President Radhakrishnan commended the increasing participation of women in education, noting that over 50% of graduates and 70% of gold medallists are women. He urged the graduates to embrace continuous learning, gratitude for opportunities, and responsible use of social media. Delhi University was lauded as a prestigious institution nurturing leaders across various fields for over a century. The Convocation marked both an end and a beginning, symbolizing the graduates’ transition to a realm of responsibility.
