Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan highlighted the importance of affordable and timely justice for citizens at a National Consultation. He stressed the need to enhance access to justice using technology-enabled legal services. Radhakrishnan emphasized inclusivity, quality, and accountability in legal empowerment.
India’s legal system success, according to Radhakrishnan, hinges on inclusivity and reaching marginalized communities. He cautioned that while technology is crucial, it should not compromise justice quality and accountability. Radhakrishnan praised the shift from colonial laws to citizen-centric justice under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.
The Tele-law initiative was cited as an example of democratizing legal services through technology. Radhakrishnan noted that providing laws in regional languages and resolving matters pre-litigation eases the burden of legal processes. Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, underlined the Tele-law initiative’s role in facilitating access to justice without the need to visit cities.
The event witnessed the launch of the “Voice of Beneficiaries” Booklet 2025–26, showcasing success stories of individuals benefiting from Tele-Law services. A comprehensive presentation on the DISHA Scheme’s progress and the launch of an AI-powered chatbot, Nyaya Setu, were also featured. Legal awareness comic books and a white paper from a technical session were released during the event.
