Vice President CP Radhakrishnan highlighted the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing government services during the 5th Dr. Rajendra Prasad Annual Memorial Lecture. Describing AI as a “new superpower,” he emphasized its role in fostering inclusive and efficient governance for a future-ready India.
India’s leadership in AI adoption aligns with the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, according to the Vice President. AI has accelerated governance processes, ensuring precise and transparent service delivery to all citizens, thereby strengthening the ethos of inclusive development.
AI’s ability to facilitate targeted welfare programs and minimize leakages has bridged the gap between policy formulation and implementation. By enabling data-driven decision-making and enhancing public service delivery, AI has fostered trust between citizens and governmental institutions.
The Vice President also highlighted AI’s role in breaking language barriers in India, citing the availability of parliamentary papers in multiple Indian languages through AI interfaces. He commended the national AI-powered language platform, BHASHINI, for promoting inclusive governance and linguistic empowerment.
In various sectors like healthcare, agriculture, MSMEs, cybersecurity, and judiciary, AI’s transformative potential is evident. Initiatives such as AI-assisted TB screening, portable X-ray devices, and telemedicine platforms like eSanjeevani have revolutionized healthcare accessibility, transcending geographical constraints.
