Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) President Thol Thirumavalavan stated that the party will reveal its stance on Tamil Nadu’s current political scenario after consulting with senior leaders and party members. The VCK’s high-level committee is scheduled to convene via video conference to discuss the uncertain government formation following the recent Assembly elections. Thirumavalavan mentioned that the party will share the outcomes with the media post the meeting.
Thirumavalavan defended the party against accusations of delay, emphasizing the need for democratic parties to engage in internal deliberations before making significant political choices. He clarified that although he holds the authority to make independent decisions as the party president, he values the opinions of party members before finalizing any official position. The online meeting was chosen due to the geographical spread of senior leaders across various districts in Tamil Nadu.
When questioned about a potential collaboration between DMK and AIADMK, Thirumavalavan refrained from commenting, citing the necessity to discuss such matters internally first. Regarding any contact from DMK President M.K. Stalin amid the political developments, Thirumavalavan mentioned that the Secular Progressive Alliance leaders had already conferred on the situation post-election. Stalin reportedly assured that the alliance would respect the people’s choice and not hinder TVK leader C. Joseph Vijay from forming the government.
Thirumavalavan neither confirmed nor denied VCK’s support for a TVK-led government if approached, highlighting the importance of internal discussions before making an official decision.
